Individual Ism’s

Before I got married, I dated a young man I met while working in the hospital. He was a medical student, and I was a registered nurse. We dated about a year. He was a couple years older and grew up in a wealthy family in another state. His parents financed his education and provided him with a monthly stipend. He and I really liked each other, and we enjoyed spending time together. We were not interested in marriage.  Since I was a nurse, I helped him study for his medical school exams. He shared that he really didn’t want to be a doctor but felt pressured by his professional parents.  Between studying, he enjoyed working on his small older model Porsche. Both his parents were professionals, and so was his sister. He sounded sad when he shared that he felt he had no choice but to follow the path his parents chose for him.
